Google Wave FAQs – Frequently asked questions and answers
November 3, 2009 by admin
Like most people, I’m working on figuring out Google Wave. I just got a great answer on my LinkedIn account to a Google Wave question that I’m sharing below (thanks to Heidi Cool). She’s inspired me to start a Google Wave Frequently Asked Questions page. Please suggest other questions and answers as I keep building this section.
Question: How do you connect to others in Google Wave?
Answer (from Heidi Cool, http://www.heidicool.com/blog/ )
If you know someone’s gmail account you can type their gmail username with a googlewave extension into the contacts search box to see if they are on Wave. (For example type user@googlewave.com if you know they have user@gmail.com). If they are on Wave you will see a message asking if you want to add them as a contact. I noticed that Wave also prepopulated my list with my gmail using contacts from my mail contact list. Other than that I’ve mostly been finding fellow Wave users via Twitter when they announce that they’ve gotten their invite or if they’ve started a Wave on a topic and want to know who else might want to be added to it. If interested I then DM the user with my wave address.
I think the others have answered the rest though I know that we’re not given invites immediately. Overall we’re all figuring it out as we go.
