Future of the Internet- next 5,000 days
In this post, I wanted to share a report on the Internet. The Internet has changed a lot in the world and most definitely the world of marketing. At a 2007 EG conference, Kevin Kelly shares a fun stat: The World Wide Web, as we know it, is only 5,000 days old. Now, Kelly asks, how can we predict what’s coming in the next 5,000 days? And in the context of marketing, what does this mean to us? Although Kevin didn’t answer this marketing question, why not share your answer by commenting here?
If you’re wondering who Kevin is, he has been publisher of the Whole Earth Review, exec editor at WIRED, founder of visionary nonprofits, and writer on biology and business and “cool tools.” If you never heard of WIRED, it is the magazine that was published for the under 30 crowd, they say- probably because of the bright glaring colors. Well, I’m definitely not under 30 (I won’t say where) but I used to eagerly await the blinding colors for the content…it was worth wearing sun glasses
